About Me- Úlfhildur Ída Helgadóttir

I was born and raised on a farm and have lived in north-east Iceland all my life. For those reasons I know the area well, mostly by travelling around it on a horse. About three years ago I became very interested in trail running and started travelling a lot in the area that way. I have participated in two ultra-marathons, Laugavegur Ultra 55 km in the Icelandic highlands and Kielder 50 km in the UK.

I have a broad experience in the working field and have worked e.g. as a bus driver and travelled a few times around Iceland, as a fisherman, as a horse trainer and I have worked in a bank. Today my husband and I along with our four children run a sheep farm where we also have horses, dogs, chickens and ducks.

The accommodation is located at our farm Ytra-Áland so the group will get to experience life on a farm.
